Q. What is $K_c$ for the following equilibrium when equilibrium concentration of each substance is $[SO_2] = 0.60 M, [O_2] = 0.82 M$ and $ [SO_3] = 1.90 M?$
$ 2SO_2 (g)+O_2(g) \rightleftharpoons 2SO_3 (g) $

Equilibrium

Solution:

For equation
$ 2SO_2 (g)+O_2(g) \rightleftharpoons 2SO_3 (g) $
$ K_c=\frac{[SO_3]^2}{[SO_2]^2 [O_2]}$
$ =\frac{[1.90\, M]^2}{[0.60\, M]^2 [0.82\, M]}$
$ = 12.299\, M^{-1}$ or $12.229\, L\, mol^{-1}$
