Q. What is common between vegetative reproduction and apomixis?

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022

Solution:

Apomixis is a reproductive process in plants that superficially resembles normal sexual reproduction, but in which there is no fusion of gametes. The embryos develop simply by division of a diploid cell, the ovule. Hence, the progenies produced are identical to the parent. In vegetative reproduction also, progenies produced are identical to the parent.
