Q. Viruses have

AIPMTAIPMT 2014Biological Classification

Solution:

Viruses can have either RNA or DNA as their genetic material, however, they never have both together. The entire infectious virus particle, called a virion, consists of the nucleic acid and an outer shell of protein. Viruses are considered neither prokaryotes nor eukaryotes because they lack the characteristics of living things, except the ability to replicate (which they accomplish only in living cells). Chromosomes are present only in eukaryotic organisms.
