Viroids were first studied in potato spindle tuber disease. Viroids have no protein coat and contain circular RNA only. Molecule of RNA is $50\, nm$ long and have mol wt $130,000$. Complete nucleotide. sequence of viroids was worked out by Gross $(1978)$.
