Viral genome incorporated into host DNA is called prophage. Most of the prohage genes are repressed by two represser proteins that are the product of phage genes. Bacteriophage is a virus that multiplies in bacterial cells. Prophase is the initial phase of mitosis in which dispersed chromatin in the cell condenses into chromosomes composed of paired chromatids and the mitotic spindle is formed.
