Q.
Unisexuality of flowers prevents?
NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022
Solution:
Pollen grains are transferred from an anther to the stigma of the same flower is called as self-pollination or autogamy. Geitonogamy is the pollination takes place in between the two flowers of the same plant. Geitonogamy is self-pollination because all flowers of the same plant are genetically identical. But functionally or ecologically, is considered as cross pollination. Male and female flowers can be present on the same plant thus unisexuality can prevent the autogamy but it does not ensure the prevention of geitonogamy.
