Q. Under what conditions of temperature and pressure the formation of atomic hydrogen from molecular hydrogen will be favoured most?
NTA Abhyas
NTA Abhyas 2020
The s-Block Elements
A
High temperature and high pressure
B
Low temperature and low pressure
C
High temperature and low pressure
D
Low temperature and high pressure
Solution:
$H_{2}\left(\right.g\left.\right) \rightarrow 2H\left(\right.g\left.\right)$
As temperature increases and pressure decreases, formation of atomic H increases. As it is endothermic process and volume is increasing so high temperature and low pressure are favourable for forward reaction.
