Solution:

Net torque about O should be zero. Hence
$\text{mg}\left(\frac{\text{l}}{2} \text{sin 60°}\right)=\text{Mg}\left(\frac{\text{l}}{2} \text{sin 30°}\right)$
∴ $\frac{\text{M}}{\text{m}}=\frac{\text{sin 60°} }{\text{sin 30°}}=\sqrt{3}$
