Q. Two trains, each $50\, m$ long are travelling in opposite direction with velocity $10 \,m/s^{-1}$ and $15 \,m/s^{-1}$. The time of crossing is:

JIPMERJIPMER 2000

Solution:

From the formula $ \text{Time}\,\text{=}\frac{\text{total}\,\text{distance}}{\text{relaive}\,\text{velocity}} $ $ =\frac{50+50}{10+15}\,=\frac{100}{20}\,= 4s $
