Q. Two inductors each of inductance $ L $ are connected in parallel. Their equivalent inductance will be

Punjab PMETPunjab PMET 1999

Solution:

Inductance of first inductor $ {{L}_{1}}=L $ Inductance of second inductor $ {{L}_{2}}=L $ Inductance connected in parallel, the equivalent inductance is given by $ \frac{L}{{{L}_{equi}}}=\frac{L}{{{L}_{1}}}+\frac{L}{{{L}_{2}}}=\frac{L}{L}+\frac{L}{L}=\frac{2}{L} $ Hence, $ {{L}_{equi}}=\frac{L}{2} $
