Let the two forces each of magnitude A then the resultant is
$R=\sqrt{A^{2}+A^{2}+2 A \times A \times \frac{1}{2}}$
$=\sqrt{2 A^{2}+A^{2}}=\sqrt{3 A^{2}}$
$R =\sqrt{3} A$
