Q. Two conductors $A$ and $B$ each of cross-section area $5\, cm ^{2}$ are connected in series. Variation of temperature (in ${ }^{\circ} C$ ) along the length (in $cm$ ) is as shown in the figure. If thermal conductivity of $A$ is $200\, J\, m ^{-1} \,s ^{-1}{ }^{\circ} C ^{-1}$ and thermal conductivity of $B$ is $k$ (in $J \,m ^{-1}\,s ^{-1}{ }^{\circ} C ^{-1}$ ), then find $\sqrt{\frac{k}{8 \sqrt{3}}} .$Physics Question Image

Thermal Properties of Matter

Solution:

$\frac{T_{2}-T_{1}}{\left(\frac{l_{1}}{K_{1} A}\right)}=\frac{T_{3}-T_{2}}{\left(\frac{l_{2}}{K_{2} A}\right)}$
$K_{1}\left(\tan 60^{\circ}\right)=K_{2}\left(\tan 45^{\circ}\right)$
