Transfer of pollen grains from the anthers to the stigma of another flower of different plant (genetically different plant) is known as xenogamy or allogamy or cross-pollination and is carried out by external agencies like wind, water and animals. Geitonogamy, cleistogamy and autogamy are mode of self-pollination. Autogamy (transfer of pollen from anther of a flower to the stigma of same flower). Geitonogamy pollen grain of one flower are transfered to the stigma of another flower of same plant. Cleistogamy flower never open and pollen are deposited on stigma of same flower.
