Q.
To reach the same height on the moon as On the earth, a body must be projected up with
Motion in a Straight Line
Solution:
Given $h_{\max }=\frac{u^{2}}{2 g }$ is to be same on earth and moon, $\frac{u_{m}^{2}}{2 g_{m}}=\frac{u_{e}^{2}}{2 g_{e}}$ but $g _{\text {earth }}=6 g _{ m }$
$
\begin{array}{l}
\therefore \frac{ u _{ m }^{2}}{2 g _{ m }}=\frac{ u _{e}^{2}}{2\left(6 g _{ m }\right)} \\
u _{ e }=\sqrt{6} u _{ m } \Rightarrow u _{ e }> u _{ m }
\end{array}
