Q. To form one molecule of glyceraldehyde phosphate in Calvin cycle :

BHUBHU 2003

Solution:

For fixation of six $CO _{2}$ molecules during Calvin cycle of photosynthesis, $18$ molecules of ATP and $12$ molecules of $NADPH _{2}$ are required.
One molecule of glyceraldehyde-$3$-phosphate. ($3$-carbon molecules) is formed by fixation of $3 CO _{2}$ molecules. So $9$ ATP and $6$ NADPH molecules are required for formation of glyceraldehyde phesphate.
$3 CO _{2}+6 NADPH +9 ATP \longrightarrow $ Glyceraldehyde-$3$ phosphatge $+ 6 NADP ^{+} +9 ADP +8 P _{ i }$
