Q. Three morphological forms of golgi complex are

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022

Solution:

The Golgi body is composed of three parts :-
1) Cisternae-These are the flat disc-like structures that are parallelly arranged to each other. A cistern has two surfaces viz. a convex/cis or forming face and a concave/trans or maturing face. The cis and trans faces are different but are interconnected to each other.
2) Tubules-These are branched and connected with cisternae.
3) Vesicles-Golgi complex performs various functions like cell secretion, formation of the lysosomes, synthesis of the cell wall material, cell plate formation, formation of acrosomes during spermiogenesis. The Golgi body is also termed as the "Middleman of the cell".
Lysosomes are the single membrane bound vesicles that are formed by the process of packaging in the golgi complex. Lysosomes contain hydrolytic enzymes that are capable of digesting various macromolecules.
