Ray Optics and Optical Instruments

Solution:

Using Snell's law
$\mu = \frac{sin\,i}{sin\,r} $
$\Rightarrow sin \,r = \frac{sin \,i}{\mu}$
According to question, $\mu$ is negative
$\therefore sin \,r$ is negative.
Hence, $r$ is negative.
