Q. The velocity of a body moving with uniform acceleration at a given instant of time is $10\, m / s$. After $5$ seconds its velocity is $20\, m / s$. Distance travelled in that time is :

Solution:

Here: $u=10\, m / s,\, v=20\, m / s,\, t=5\, \sec$
From equation of motion, $v=u +a t$
$20=10+a \times 5$ So, $a=2\, m / s ^{2}$
Now from formula, $v^{2}=u^{2}+2\, a s$
$20^{2}=10^{2}+2 \times 2 s$
so, $s=\frac{300}{4}=75\, m$
