Q. The variation of solubility of four different gases $(G1, G2, G3, G4 etc.)$ in a given solvent with pressure at a constant temperature is shown in the plot image The gas with the highest value of Henry’s law constant is

KVPYKVPY 2013

Solution:

According to Henry’s law,
$P = K_HX$
where, $K_H$ is Henry’s constant
$\Rightarrow X=\frac{P}{K_{H}}$
Thus, higher the value of solubility at given pressure, lower will be the value of Henry’s law constant of the gas. As the solubility of $G_1$ is least, thus it will have the highest value of Henry’s law constant.
