Q. The two monosaccharides of sucrose are held together by a glycosidic linkage between

Biomolecules

Solution:

Sucrose is formed by condensation of $\alpha-D$ glucopyranose $\left(C_{1} \alpha\right)$ unit ana $\beta - D -$fructofuranose $\left(C_{2}-\beta\right)$ unit. These units are joined by $\alpha - \beta$ glycosidic linkage between $C_1$at the glucose unit and $C_2$ at the fructose unit.
