Q. The triplet on coding strand of DNA is ATG. What would be the required anticodon on corresponding tRNA during translation ?

MHT CETMHT CET 2017Molecular Basis of Inheritance

Solution:

Coding strand is complementary to template strand. It means triplet on coding strand would be similar to mRNA strand triplet synthesised by transcription, i.e., AUG (U in place of T in RNA). Hence, the tRNA having UAC anticodon would be required for translation of this mRNA triplet.
