Solution:

Biogas is produced by decomposition of organic waste and used as fuel for lighting, cooking, etc. Biogas production developed in India by efforts of Indian Agricultural Research Institute and Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC). Grama Laxmi plant is first biogas plant of India and currently there are about 56 biogas based power plants operated in three states, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Karnataka.
