Q. The sum of 15 observations of a data is $(434+x)$. If the mean of the data is $x$, then find $x$.

Statistics

Solution:

Given sum of all observations $=434+x$ and $n=15, \bar{x}=x$.
$\therefore \frac{434+x}{15}=x$
$434+x=15 x$
$x=\frac{434}{14} \Rightarrow x=31$.
