Solution:

The spinal cord is a long, soft, whitish, slightly flattened, cylindrical rod present in the neural canal of the vertebral column. The neural canal similar to the cranium forms a protective covering of cavities around the spinal cord. The neural foramen is divided into an upper and larger spinal foramen for the spinal cord and a lower and smaller odontoid canal for the odontoid process.
