Q.
The specific charge of an electron is
J & K CETJ & K CET 2004
Solution:
The ratio of charge $[e]$ to mass $[m]$ is defined as specific charge.
$\therefore $ Specific charge $=\frac{e}{m}$
For electron $e=1.6 \times 10^{-19} C,$
$m=9 \times 10^{-31} kg$
$\therefore $ Specific charge $=\frac{1.6 \times 10^{-19}}{9 \times 10^{-31}}$
$=1.76 \times 10^{11} C / kg$
