Dry cell is a primary cell. It consists two electrodes, i.e., zinc (anode) and graphite (cathode). The space between the two electrodes in the dry cell is filled with a mixture of $ MnO_{2},ZnCl_{2},NH_{4}Cl $ and a filter. It is used in torches, toys, calculators, tape recorder etc.
