Soil is transported and deposited at places far distant from the place of their origin. The soil can be of mainly four different types based on the agent of transportation :
(i) Colluvial soil - Transported to lower regions due to gravity.
(ii) Alluvial soil - Transported by rivers.
(iii) Glacial soil - Transported by glaciers.
(iv) Eolian soil - Transported by air.
