Q.
The sliding filament theory of muscle contraction was proposed by
Locomotion and Movement
Solution:
Sliding filament theory is a proposed mechanism of muscle contraction in which the actin and myosin filaments of striated muscle slide over each other to shorten the length of the muscle fibres. This theory was proposed independently by A.F. Huxley and R. Niedergerke; H.E. Huxley and Jean Manson in England in 1954. It is well supported by experimental evidence.
