Q. The shortest wavelength which can be obtained in hydrogen spectrum is $ (R=10^{7}m^{-1})$

Haryana PMTHaryana PMT 2009Atoms

Solution:

For minimum wavelength $n_{2}=\infty, n_{1}=n$
So, $\lambda_{\min }=\frac{n^{2}}{R}=\frac{1}{10^{7}}$
$=1000\,\mathring{A}$
