Q. The refractive index of a medium is $\sqrt{3}$ . If the unpolarized light is incident on it at the polarizing angle of the medium, the angle of refraction is

Wave Optics

Solution:

Using, $tan i_{p} = \sqrt{3} $
$\therefore i_{p} = tan^{-1}\left(\sqrt{3}\right) = 60^{\circ} $
As $r= 90^{\circ} - i_{p}$
$\therefore r = 90^{\circ} -60^{\circ} = 30^{\circ}$
