Thermal Properties of Matter

Solution:

Let the readings of two thermometers coincide at $C=F=x$
As $\frac{C}{5}=\frac{F-32}{9}$
$\therefore \frac{x}{5}=\frac{x-32}{9}$
or $9 x=5 x-160$
$x=-40^{\circ} C$
