Solution:

Given, $R=6400 \, km=6.4\times 10^{6} \, m,h=500 \, m$
$\therefore \, \, Range, \, d=\sqrt{2 h R}$
$=\sqrt{2 \times 500 \times 6.4 \times 10^{6}}$
$=\sqrt{64 \times 10^{8}}=8\times 10^{4}=80 \, km$
