Q. The radius of $n^{th}$ orbit $r_n$ in terms of Bohr radius $(a_0)$ for a hydrogen atom is given by the relation

Atoms

Solution:

The radius of $n^{th}$ orbit $r_n = n^2 \frac{\hbar 4\pi \varepsilon_{0}}{me^2}$
where $\frac{\hbar 4\pi \varepsilon_{0}}{me^2} = a_0$ ( Bohr radius)
Hence, $r_n = n^2 a_0$.
