Q. The process by which an angiospermic male gametophyte enters the female gametophyte through an opening in the ovule is called?

Solution:

Siphonogamy occurs in seed plants where male gametes are carried to the egg containing female gametophyte by means of a pollen tube. When the entry of pollen tube to the ovule is through micropylar end, it is called 'porogamy'. In chalazogamy (or basigamy), pollen tube enters the ovule by the chalazal end.
