Q. The points which trisect the line segment joining the points (0, 0) and (9, 12) are
Straight Lines
A
(3, 4), (6, 8)
89%
B
(8, 6), (0, 2)
4%
C
(1, 3) (2, 5)
2%
D
(4, 0), (0, 3)
5%
Solution:
Let required point are $P$ & $Q$
$P \left(\frac{9+2 \times 0}{1+2}, \frac{1 \times 12+2 \times 0}{1+2}\right)$ divides in $1: 2$
$P=(3,4)$
Q divides in $2: 1$
Hence $Q \left(\frac{2 \times 9+1 \times 0}{2+1}, \frac{2 \times 12+1+0}{2+1}\right)= Q (6,8)$
