Q. The pH of a solution containing $40$ milligrams of sodium hydroxide in $10\, dm^3$ of the solution is

COMEDKCOMEDK 2007Equilibrium

Solution:

Concentration of $NaOH$ solution
$ = \frac{40 \times 10^{-3}}{40 \times 10} mol /L = 10^{-4} \, mol / L$
Hence, $pOH = 4$ and $pH= 14 - 4 = 10$
