Q. The pH of a mixture of $100 \,ml \,1M\, H_2SO_4$ and $200 \,ml\, 1N \,NaOH$ at $25^{\circ}C$ is

Equilibrium

Solution:

We know,
Normality $=$ molarity $\times$ n-factor
$\Rightarrow $ Normality of $H _{2} SO _{4}=1 \times 2, N =2 N$
$\therefore $ Number of $g$ equivalents of $H^{+}=\left|N_{1} V_{1}-N_{2} V_{2}\right|=|0.1 \times 2-0.2 \times 1|=0$
$\Rightarrow $ Solution is neutral
