NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022

Solution:

Gene is a segment of DNA that is responsible for synthesis of a particular type of protein. Gene that codes for a particular protein or enzyme is also called as cistron. In eukaryotes, these are monocistronic and the coding sequence is interrupted by short sequences which do not appear in the mature mRNA called as intron. The coding sequence involved in expression of the protein is termed exon. Genes in prokaryotes are generally polycistronic and code for multiple proteins.
Codon is the particular sequence of three N-bases that represents a specific amino acid.
