Q.
The order of first ionisation energies of the elements Li, Be, B, Na is
Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties
Solution:
As we go from left to right in a period, the ionization potential increases. Be and $B$ are exceptions.
As Be has electronic configuration $1 s^{2} 2 s^{2}$ and $B$ has $1 s^{2} 2 s^{2} 2 p^{1}$, it's easy to remove electron from boron than beryllium.
