Solution:

Partial pressure which is the pressure contributed by a single gas alone in the mixture of gases. It is represented as pG, where G represents different gases. The table gives us the pressures of oxygen and carbon-di-oxide during the exchange of gases from alveoli to blood and blood to the tissues. Carbon-di-oxide has a higher solubility in the blood $\left(\right.20-25\left.\right)$ times than that of oxygen due to which the partial pressure of $CO_{2}$ is lower as compared to oxygen.
