Solution:

D-ward is used to represent the arrangement of $OH$ group in right side at second last carbon atoms as in glyceraldehyde and $[+)$ sing is used to represent the rotation in right side. Hence, in $D-(=)-$ trataric acid it has a positive optical rotation and it is derived from glyceralde hyde.
