Q. The number of tetrahedral and octahedral voids in a $ccp$ array of $100$ atoms are respectively

KEAMKEAM 2014The Solid State

Solution:

In CCP effective number of atom is always equal to octahedral voids and $2$ times of tetrahedral voids
i. e. if no of atoms are $100$ then,
Octahedral voids $=100$
tetrahedral voids $=2 \times 100=200$
