Q. The number of molecules in $4.25\, g$ of ammonia is approximately

AIIMSAIIMS 1996Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry

Solution:

Given: Weight of ammonia $=4 \times 25\, g .$

We know that $17\, g$ of ammonia $\left( NH _{3}\right)$ contains $6 \times 02 \times 10^{23}$ molecules.

Therefore number of molecules in $4 \times 25$ of $NH _{3}= \frac{6 \times 02 \times 10^{23} \times 4 \times 25}{17} $

$=1 \times 50 \times 10^{23}$
