Q. The normality and volume strength of a solution made by mixing $1.0\, L$ each of $5.6$ volume and $11.2$ volume $H _{2} O _{2}$ solution are :

Solution:

$1 \,N =5.6 \,vol$
$\Rightarrow$ Normalities of two solutions are $1 \,N$ and $2\, N$
Normality of mixture $=\frac{1 \times 1+1 \times 2}{1+1}=\frac{3}{2}=1.5\, N$
Volume strength $=\frac{3}{2} \times 5.6=\frac{16.8}{2}=8.4\, vol$
