Q. The nearest star to our solar system is $ 4.3 $ light years away. The distance of this star in Parsec is (Mean distance between the earth and the sun $ = 1.5 \times 10^{11}\, m $ and one light year $ = 9.46 \times 10^{15} \, m $ )

Solution:

Since, we know that
$1$ light year $= 9.46 \times 10^{15}\, m$
$\therefore 4.3$ light year $=4.3 \times 9.46\times 10^{15}\,m$
and $1$ parsec $=3.1\times 10^{16}\,m$
$\therefore 4.3$ light year $=\frac{4.3\times 9.46\times 10^{15}}{31\times 10^{16}}$ parsec
$=13.12\times10$
$=1.3$ parsec
