Ground tissue is part of plant tissue present between epidermal tissue and vascular bundles. It is present in most of delicate parts of body. It is made up of 3 fundamental types of cells , Parenchyma, Collenchyma and Sclerenchyma. Parenchyma performing major functions like photosynthesis, storage, healing and repair is relatively higher in number as compared to Collenchyma and Sclerenchyma. Collenchyma and Sclerenchyma perform major supporting functions.
