Bacterial cell wall is the outer rigid covering of the cell which provides shape and protection to the protoplasm. Bacterial wall contains peptidoglycan and diaminopimelic acid. Peptidoglycan consists of two linked molecules, acetyl glucosamine and acetyl muramic acid.
