Q. The main function of bile is
(1) emulsification of fat
(2) store bile pigments
(3) neutralise gastric HCl and provide alkaline medium in duodenum
(4) to stimulate secretion of pancreatic enzymes

BHUBHU 2009

Solution:

Bile lacks any digestive enzymes but it plays an important role in digestion, especially in the digestion of fats by bringing about their emulsification.
It also neturalizes gastric $HCl $ and provides alkaline medium in duodenum, which is necessary for the action of pancreatic and intestinal juices.
Secretion of pancreatic juice is stimulated by secretin and $CCK$ hormones.
