Q. The ionic radii $N^{3-}, O^{2-}, F^{-}$and $N a^{+}$follow the order

Chhattisgarh PMTChhattisgarh PMT 2005

Solution:

$\Rightarrow $ Cations has lower atomic radius that the isolated atom Whereas anions has higher atomic radius than the isolated
$\Rightarrow $ Higher the positive charge, lesser is the atomic radius and higher the negative charge, greater is the atonic radius. So, the increasing order of ionic radii is:-
$N ^{3-}> O ^{2-}> f ^{-}> Na ^{+}$
