Solution:

Compound containing $CH_3 - \overset{|}{C} = O$ group and $ - \underset{\overset{|}{OH}}{CH} - CH_3$ group give the iodoform test. In this test the compound react with iodine and $ NaOH $ and gives a yellow ppt. of iodoform.
